Milton is the Santa Rosa County seat and it sits on the Blackwater River about forty minutes northeast of the yard — usually I-10 east and up SR-87 or Avalon Boulevard, or straight out US-90 through Pace if the address is on the highway side. NAS Whiting Field is the other engine. Downtown Milton is the part that needs planning. The streets in the historic blocks are narrow, a lot of the houses have no off-street parking worth the name, and the drives that do exist are short and often shell or sand. That combination means placement gets decided before delivery day, not on it. If the container has to sit in the street, that is a City of Milton right-of-way question and Santa Rosa County is a separate permitting jurisdiction from Escambia — whatever your contractor is used to doing in Pensacola does not transfer. On the older stock, remember what is under the house: brick piers and a crawlspace, not a slab, and never anything below grade. That crawl holds ductwork, plumbing and moisture, and rot at the sill and band joist is where a cosmetic job turns structural. Getting a truck to you

Normally I-10 east out of Pensacola and north at Avalon Boulevard or SR-87, which keeps the truck off the surface streets until the last few miles. If the address sits on the highway side we run US-90 out through Pace instead. Forty minutes on a clear morning. What we plan around downtown is the courthouse traffic, the school runs and the narrow historic streets where a truck needs room to swing and back. On the rural side east and north of town, tell us where the septic and the well sit and how tight the turnaround is at the gate — we would rather know before we are in it.
